Production Planner
About the business
An industry leader in the fabrication and assembly of metal, aluminum and stainless-steel parts, this Melbourne based business is currently going through an exciting phase of growth securing new contracts in defense and automotive. Due to growth in their business, they are looking to hire a dynamic Production Planner to join their planning team.
About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role will see you lead all aspect of the production planning function ensuring all production demands are met. Using your working knowledge of production planning and scheduling you will provide up to date production reports to all relevant stakeholders
Responsibilities:
Coordinate all planning and scheduling activities to meet production targets
Communicate production priorities to production manager
Generate planning reports, identifying, and managing potential shortfalls
Adjust production schedule based on forecast sales and confirmed orders
Attend all production meetings communicating with all relevant stakeholders ensuring production demands are met
Key Requirements:
Proven experience as a production planner in a manufacturing environment preferably in the automotive, steel fabrication or General engineering industry.
Excellent time management and sense of urgency
Working knowledge of MS office and ERP planning systems
Demonstrated experience working in a Lean or Six Sigma environment
Excellent interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to engage with production staff
Demonstrated ability to deliver accurate outcomes within tight time frames
