Senior Product Engineer

A well-established organisation our client’s success is due to their unique ability to manufacture highly complex components for the automotive industry. Having recently expanded their operation, they are currently seeking a solutions-focused Senior Product Engineer to help enhance and grow their current engineering capability.
About the role
Reporting to senior management, the primary responsibility for the position is the design, development, validation, release, and approval of components, products, and production processes. You will be required to apply engineering knowledge to a wide range of highly complex assignments as well as mentor, monitor, develop, and lead other engineers in the department to achieve their project objective.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the development of conceptual and production designs for new products and processes.
Liaise with customers and internal teams on any related issues/concerns to facilitate appropriate actions in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction is enhanced.
Review technical documentation to ensure the feasibility of product design and manufacture.
Coordinate project planning, resource requirements, key milestones and timing to ensure all internal and customer targets are achieved.
Develop engineers through the mentoring, guidance, and transfer of knowledge processes.
Key Requirements:
Minimum six years’ experience in an automotive related leadership position within a product engineering group / department.
High level of knowledge and experience with plastics, metal fabrication and press tooling
Strong leadership skillset with the ability to develop, coach and mentor
Knowledge of principles and practices of lean design, design for manufacture and standardization of process and products.
Ability to work under pressure across multiple projects and assigned work targets.
